Here is a quick guide to the different types available and the terminology used.
With 2, 3 or more decks, motor yachts offer more deck space overall than sailing yachts of the same length. Feadship, Amels and Lurssen are among the top builders, but Azimut, Princess and Sunseeker are also popular in the 30/50m range. Some of these spacious yachts are equipped with a wide range of amenities to suit your personal tastes and requirements: from a sundeck jacuzzi to a cinema and gym, from a submarine to a large fleet of the latest water toys, there is something for everyone.
Advice: for last-minute offers, we recommend that you remain flexible (choice of yacht, location, itinerary…) and trust your charter broker.
Very popular in the Mediterranean between Cannes, Monaco and Porto Cervo. Equipped with powerful diesel engines, and hybrid propulsion systems for the latest yachts, Sport Yachts – Mangusta, Leopard,
AB or Palmer Johnson – offer high cruising speeds, perfect for short term charters or for those who enjoy the thrill of speed. With an aggressive design, these eye-catching yachts all feature a very spacious open deck saloon with alfresco dining and lounge areas. Their main decks offer comfortable relaxation areas. Their jet propulsion system allows Sport yachts to drop anchor in shallow waters, perfect for enjoying hidden anchorages that deeper-draft yachts can’t reach.
Advice: be sure to include fuel costs for the agreed trip.
Explorer yachts (converted tugboats, new San Lorenzo Explorer serie…) are becoming increasingly popular for charter. Built to be seaworthy, expedition yachts offer guests the adventure of a lifetime, allowing them to visit some of the most remote and exclusive locations in the world with a high level of comfort and safety at sea. Key features include slow cruising speeds, low fuel consumption for great autonomy and exotic underwater toys to explore the world.
Advice: It takes time to build up an exploration charter with a client. We do not recommend last minute charters to explore remote locations
