A guide to discovering the heart of the French Riviera. Saint-Tropez is a picturesque fishing village in the south of France, famous for its beautiful beaches, luxurious yachts and celebrity sightings. It’s a favourite holiday destination for the rich and famous, but there’s more to this town than glitz and glamour.

Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation or cultural immersion, there are plenty of things to do in Saint-Tropez that will leave you with unforgettable memories. For those wanting to experience the glitz and glamour of the French Riviera, Saint-Tropez is one of the best spots in south of France.

Saint-Tropez: explore the old town

The Old Town of Saint-Tropez is a charming and vibrant neighborhood filled with narrow cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and lively markets. Take a stroll through the picturesque Place des Lices, where locals gather to play boules, a traditional game similar to bocce. Visit the 16th-century Citadel and Museum, which offers a glimpse into the town’s maritime history. The Marche aux Fleurs is a beautiful flower market that is held every Tuesday and Saturday in the Place des Lices. The Marche Provencal is another popular market that offers a wide range of local produce, including fruit, vegetables, and cheeses.

Hit the beach

Ramatuelle (30 minutes from the port of Saint-Tropez) is famous for its stunning beaches, and for good reason. The Plage de Pampelonne is the largest and most famous beach in the area, stretching over three miles (4.5km) and lined with trendy beach clubs in high season: Club 55, Bagatelle, Nikki beach… If you’re seeking something more secluded, head to the beaches of Plage de l’Escalet or Plage des Salins. These hidden gems offer crystal-clear water, picturesque coves, and a peaceful escape from the crowds.

If you have time, don’t miss the islands of Porquerolles or Port Cros.

Indulge in French Cuisine but not only...

Saint-Tropez is known for its world-class cuisine, with an abundance of restaurants offering fresh seafood, local produce, and exquisite wines. Enjoy a meal at the Michelin-starred La Vague d’Or or the iconic Senequier, famous for its red and white striped awnings and outdoor seating. For a more relaxed atmosphere, head to the Place des Lices and try some of the local specialties, such as tarte tropézienne, a cream-filled pastry, or ratatouille, a vegetable stew.

Le Salama: Moroccan restaurant, couscous, meaty tagines & Moroccan pastries, plus cocktails, in a sophisticated setting.
La Petite Plage: seafood restaurant with a lounge bar and view of the port.
Banh-Hoï: Japanese, Thai & Vietnamese dishes served at a sleek, low-lit venue with a terrace on a lane.
La Vague d’Or: three Michelin stars gastronomic restaurant, other restaurant: under the shade of the pines, in front of the sparkling sea: la Terrasse.

Saint-Tropez is renowned for its glamorous nightlife, with bars and nightclubs that attract the rich and famous from around the world. The VIP Room and Les Caves du Roy are two of the most famous clubs in town, where you can dance the night away to world-class DJs.
