Which area of Corsica boasts the most beautiful beaches?
When it comes to the best beaches of Corsica, you have three options.
1. North Corsica: St-Florent
There are several beaches worth visiting around St Florent and the north east of Corsica, including the famous Plage du Lotu (Loto) and the lesser known Plage de Saleccia, Olzu and Tettola.
Unspoilt nature: plage du Loto, desert des Agrigates
If you’re looking for an unspoilt and secluded beach experience, Plage de Loto in the Désert des Agriates should be at the top of your list. Its powdery white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters make it one of the most stunning beaches in the area. While it tends to get crowded during the high season of July and August, it remains a hidden gem for the rest of the year.
Idyllic retreat: Saleccia beach
Situated on the coast of Corsica, Saleccia Beach is a true paradise – the beach is frequently ranked as one of the top 10 beaches to visit when on a Corsican beach holiday.that offers a glimpse of unspoilt natural beauty. With its pearly white sand and crystal clear waters, this beach is an excellent choice for those seeking an idyllic retreat away from the crowds.
2. South Corsica: Santa Giulia, Palombaggia, Roccapina...
Classic: Santa Giulia
Located in Southern Corsica, Santa Giulia Beach is a top destination for beachgoers, and is considered by many to be the most photogenic of all the beaches in the area. With its magnificent horseshoe bay and shallow, crystal-clear waters, it’s an ideal spot for families with young children to enjoy swimming and sunbathing.
Water sports & prehistoric sites: Palombaggia, Roccapina
In contrast to Palombaggia Beach, which has a pinkish hue to its sand, Santa Giulia Beach has pale yellow sand. While it may not be as famous as Palombaggia, it can be just as crowded during peak season. However, it offers a wider selection of shops and restaurants and is a hotspot for water sports enthusiasts.
An unspoilt beach that has been compared to the shores of the Caribbean, Roccapina surprises with a handful of prehistoric sites and castles that dot the mountainside.
Finest beaches within a natural reserve: the Lavezzi Archipelago
Lavezzu, Cavallo, Ratinu, Piana… these are some of the granitic islands that make up the Lavezzi archipelago, classified as a nature reserve. The Lavezzi are a group of small granite islands and reefs in the Strait of Bonifacio, which separates Corsica from Sardinia in the Mediterranean Sea. This little explored archipelago has a number of secluded beaches and coves.
Top pick: Hôtel & Spa des Pêcheurs – Cavallo island
Located in an enchanted oasis in the crystal clear blue sea, between Sardinia and Corsica, the Hôtel & Spa des Pêcheurs is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday in a natural environment.

3. Factors to take into account when visiting Corsica
Anchorage regulation, posidonia protection
Please note that the anchoring of yachts along the French Riviera and Corsica is strictly regulated.
Since 2016, local regulations have been in place to restrict yachts from anchoring in certain locations in order to protect the Posidonia seagrass.
The regulation of anchorage and mooring for yachts on the French Mediterranean Sea has been enforced since March 2021.
Importance to choose a yacht with a comfortable tender: please note that due to a constantly changing regulation in Corsica (and on the French Riviera), it may not be possible for the yacht to drop anchor close to the coast.
